Where is Alamo Square?

San Francisco’s 12.7 acre Alamo Square is one of the city’s top tourist spots.Alamo Square received an overhaul a few years back, reopening in 2017 with a brand new irrigation system, new landscaping and trees, repaired pathways that wind through the park’s undulating though well-manicured grasslands, and an ADA accessible, all-gender restroom located close to the park’s children’s play area. There’s also an off-leash area for pooches, and a tennis court.

On sunny days, the Transamerica Pyramid building and the tops of the Golden Gate Bridge and Bay Bridge can be seen from the park’s center.

The famous attractions Painting Ladies is across from the Alamo park, while sitting in Alamo Square park, visitors will see the incredible views of the Painting Ladies.

Beyond the Painted ladies, this official Historic District Neighborhood is home to countless other examples of Victorian architecture; including, Italianate, San Francisco Stick and of course the elegant Queen Anne homes. There are also many literary and artistic related places around you can visit.
